Finishing the project

The childrens film we were making was not 100% by the deadline so we had to hand in a uncompleted project. All that needs to be done on the film is the music added to the video and the titles need to finished.

Titles

We chose a title style we thought suited to children it was hobo standard, font color was light green. we have decided to place these titles at the beginning of the opening scene,e.g. actors names next to the actors.

Music for my my song 5

This is happening at the beginning of the film we used a country style music faded into the background. For the elevator music we used a classical broadway music called 'Off broadway' which worked well as a background sound for the scene.

ending scene music

For the ending we used a forest sound effect to create the scene we faded this out in places to make it sound like a background sound. We put in a big waterfall sound in as well to make more of an effect of the scene.

music for children's film

created music for running scene, using suspense accent one for the beginning of the scene when professor bull spots the two main characters. a chase scene follows this ,we used galleria medium for this. Lastly we used bongo grove no.1 for the ending chase scene.

Rotoscoping

For the elevator scene we used rotoscoping techniques to get the desired effect we wanted, to edit together the scenes we had. We think it went semi successfully because it does have a clear transition from the elevator to the garden. we will experiment with this technique if we decide to use it again.

Editing techniques

most of the filming is just cutting together of the scenes. but we have to re-do all the sound because of disturbances while filming. for one shot of the film we must rotoscope white light out of the lift door to show the transition from the real world to the new world we created in the film. we will be editing in small creatures into the final scene to make it look like a magical fantasy world.

Filming childrens film

in the filming of the opening sequence for our children's film we used a variety of shots and equipment such as a dolly for running shots and a tripod for stability, although we had to re film some scenes because we have some uninvited people walk into our shots.

stroyboard

slow shots that fit together well. Two characters who are going to skip school. They run around the school trying not to get noticed. Starts of slow and then the genre changes with the music.

Childrens Film opening sequence logo

Michael: today i started to work our production logo using a picture of a Narwhal and some text to make the logo next lesson i'm finishing the logo and then Patrick is putting the logo into the title sequence.

Lawrence: using garage band I experimented with different types of music, including dance, guitar and country so far i have been unsuccessful in deciding on a genre.

TItle Font

experimented with different fonts, colours, warp tools and shadowing options to make the title of the film. we will use the same font as the title as it will keep the continuity going but we will make the title stand out slightly compared to the other names by moving it around the screen.

Q1-08 Children's Film Introduction Review

Q1-08 Children's Film Introduction review:

Pros:
Good point of view shots : during the fight scene the majority of it is done of POV which immerses the views into the action. When the student wakes up into the dream the camera is slightly blurred and shaky to create the feeling of a dream.
The opening scene portrays the two main characters as rivals or enemies which is later reinforced with a fight scene.
THe audience of this movie could be young children around the age of 8 because the teacher is the mean teacher that all children dread to have. So this plays on a child's fear of "Evil" teacher

Cons:
The teacher in the film opening is dress like a student which could either mean he is not considered a figure of authority or he is try to be cool.
The dialogue is not very well
The lack of props is noticeable, nothing too serious but it is easy to tell the difference between their class room and a real life class room. Also it takes away the realism of school life.
